Strategic Systems Incorporated
As a freelance designer for Strategic Systems, Inc., I was hired for two projects: designing a trade show banner and creating an interactive kiosk interface. The company needed updated booth accessories that were both visually engaging and informative, so they brought me in to help. The banner showcased key products with concise descriptions, serving as a dynamic yet professional backdrop. The kiosk, a more intensive project, required designing 15 interlinked product pages, each featuring product details, images, and videos (where available). For both projects, I maintained a military-inspired aesthetic, using professional color palettes, fonts, and graphics.
The banner system consisted of a main frame (7.5’ x 7.5’), two side frames (5’ x 7.5’), and six end caps (3’ x 7.5’ each). I created six main designs—three for the front and three for the back. The back featured a large, eye-catching product image spanning all three frames with the company logo, drawing in passersby. The front, designed for visitors engaging with the booth, provided essential company and product information in a visually structured format.
I designed the interactive kiosk interface using Figma to ensure a clean, user-friendly experience that offered in-depth product information for booth visitors, whether they engaged independently or with an attendant. The home screen featured a carousel of product pictures and links to detailed pages for 15 different products. Each page contained product descriptions, images, videos (when available), and downloadable pamphlets. Related products were also cross-linked for easy navigation. Users could seamlessly return to the home screen or explore additional products from each page.
After several trade shows, the SSI team shared that the banner was well-received, and the kiosk became an invaluable tool for both visitors and staff. Even when users didn’t interact with the kiosk independently, it provided quick access to product information, particularly for large-scale products that can’t be displayed physically. These projects were a rewarding experience, and I look forward to future collaborations with SSI.
